LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT - KIT-HAN-NE REGION OF THE AACA
Living in Pennsylvania, we have really only two seasons - old car season and garage season. We're moving out of garage season and into spring and you know what that means - its time to get our cars ready for the cruise season - that season that lasts about ½ year. Yes, our first cruise is Wednesday, April 22nd, with hopefully great weather, a lot of cars and Hemi Denny's tunes.
Prior to our first cruise, members will have participated in the BASMA Town Hall Meeting at Eracers go cart raceway meeting hall on Saturday. March 28th from 12:30 to 6 PM. It is located on route 68 headed west out of Butler toward Evans City. We'll be pushing our cruises at that event. Also, the Anything on Wheels Parts Swap Meet at the Worthington Fire Hall grounds will be at 7 AM, Saturday, April 4. $10 setup fee, free admission and parking for spectators. Clean out your garage stuff and make money!
Bud and Carolyn Glendening have graciously accepted the challenge and hosting of the overnight trip to Ohio's Lincoln Highway. Stay tuned for details on this one - it will be in June and will be a lot of fun.
Also, Boyd Baker is hosting/arranging a tour of Ed Brown's car collection in nearby Allegheny Township, with plans for lunch at the Bonfire restaurant.
So, 2009 is falling into place nicely. We've taken care of the business side of things - insurance arrangements, internet postings, etc.
Please remember to send your $10 Kit-Han-Ne dues to treasurer Jim Schultze as soon as possible. This is the 3rd reminder and some have still not paid up. When your local dues are paid up, you'll receive your AACA membership card dated for 2009.
Jorn did submit our application to Valvoline for an award for community service to an organization. We were in competition with other car clubs, nationally, for money for the charity of our choice, plus a bunch of good give-aways for cruises. Unfortunately for us, and for HAVIN, we were not selected for a prize this year.
Our next 2009 meeting is Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at Theresa's Royle Allegheny. Dinner for the dinner crowd is 6 PM and the meeting starts at 7 PM.
If you have any interesting articles, pictures or things for sale or want to buy, please send your information to Rusty Birch at rbirch@laborready.com and he'll get the info on our website.
