LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT - KIT-HAN-NE REGION OF THE AACA
Here it is April already - and it is snowing! Our April meeting is Wednesday, April 15th. at Theresa's Royale Allegheny Restaurant - dinner is at 6PM and the meeting starts at 7PM. This one meeting had to be moved ahead of the cruise - most other planned meetings are the week after the Cadet Cruise.
Our first cruise is at 4PM, Wednesday, April 22nd, with hopefully great weather, a lot of cars and Hemi Denny's tunes. We will start setup between 2 and 3PM so that we're ready for 4PM. Please come and help if you can - there's many jobs to be filled. Hope for sunshine!
The BASMA Town Hall Meeting at Eracers go cart raceway meeting hall was on Saturday, March 28th from 12:30 to 6PM. Attendance was down by 75 over the previous year - that was a substantial drop in attendance. Weather was good, so that wasn't a problem. Jorn pushed our cruises, Anything on Wheels Swap Meet at Worthington, The Keystone Kruisers Cruise in July at Worthington Fire Hall, and other local events such as those of the Shannock Valley Car Club at that event. The Anything on Wheels Swap Meet was the strongest yet - 28 vendors and a fair sized crowd early on - it was cold and windy, but no rain. The firemen pulled in just over $500, so that helps them a little.
Bud and Carolyn Glendening have set up an October 17th, 2009, overnight trip to Riverside Inn in Cambridge Springs, PA. We have flyers to pass out. It involves a play, dinner and overnight stay with breakfast. It really sounds like fun - please sign up soon by responding to Bud or Bobbi. We have 10 rooms reserved in the club name. We'll also be filling you in on other trips, cruises and events soon.
We have received our insurance paperwork from AACA and JC Taylor Insurance Agency for our Cadet Cruises and the Charapp show/cruise. Also, those businesses have received their copies of that coverage also. So, we're set on that part of it. Also, dash plaques are promised this week.
Nine members have still not paid up their 2009 Kit-Han-Ne dues - please take care of that item of business and send your $10 Kit-Han-Ne dues to treasurer Jim Schultze as soon as possible. This is the 4th reminder. When your local dues are paid up, you'll receive your AACA membership card dated for 2009.
Our next 2009 meeting is Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at Theresa's Royal Allegheny. Dinner is 6Pm and the meeting starts at 7PM. Please plan to attend if you can make it - we have a lot of business items to discuss.
If you have any interesting articles, pictures or things for sale or want to buy, please send your information to Rusty Birch at rbirch@laborready.com and he'll get the info on our website.
